CoCA Presents: #FirstWorldWhiteGirls

Cairns, 11th April, 2016   Fresh from their sellout season at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, trust fund princess Tiffany (Judy Hainsworth) and trophy-wife Kendall (Kaitlin Oliver Parker) will land in Cairns this Thursday with their wickedly funny show – #FirstWorldWhiteGirls.

Audiences will be both laughing and squirming at the politically-incorrect ramblings of this ridiculously over privileged duo as they share their ego-centric world view by sharing songs and giving audiences advice on the best way to deal with their own first world problems.

“Remember, no problem is too small,” songstress “Tiffany” explains. “Whether it's a chipped nail minutes after getting a manicure, having to drink Chardonnay because there is no Pinot Gris or having the new car smell wear off your BMW.”

#FirstWorldWhiteGirls was created, written and composed by Judy Hainsworth, who plays Tiffany, in response to the self-obsession she saw around her.

“As more and more people live their lives through social media, there seems to be less and less connection to what really matters.

“It's a world where happiness is measured in FaceBook likes and Twitter followers,” Hainsworth added. “Tiffany believes the road to happiness lies in becoming famous and she and Kendall are desperate to get onto a reality TV show,” she added.

Judy’s fellow performer is Kaitlin Oliver Parker. “It's such fun to play these dreadfully over-privileged women, but more than that audiences will enjoy the catchy tunes and wickedly clever lyrics. Audiences should not be surprised if they walk out humming the tunes.”

The production premiered at the Judith Wright Centre in Brisbane in July 2014. Three sold-out performances grew to five. Since then it has had two seasons in Adelaide, the last completely sold-out, and performances at Redlands Performing Arts Centre and the Empire Theatres Toowoomba.

Catch White Girls this Thursday at the Centre of Contemporary Arts. There is theatre seating ($29 and $24 concession) or cabaret seating ($32 single or $116 for a table of four). Book online at www.artscairns.com.au
